El descanso

The traces of a splendid country and the pettiness, negotiations and power relations that are established between clearly Argentine characters make El Descanso a film that, without losing its sense of humor, tries to understand part of our chaotic present. Freddy and Osvaldito are two friends from Buenos Aires who are on vacation in the mountains and an absurd accident on the road forces them to spend the day in a desolate place until the car is fixed. That is where Freddy discovers El Descanso, an old and imposing hotel nestled in the mountains, an ancient relic of an aristocracy that no longer exists. Upon learning that the hotel no longer has an owner, Freddy gets excited about the delusional idea of ​​reopening it and somehow recovering the good life of earlier times.
